Poetry Pocket Assignment

Getting Started
:
You will be given the pocket in class. You will also need glue or glue sticks, markers, crayons, poster board, and any other materials  you choose to make your props. You will also need a copied, typed, or printed version of your poem. When you have read over these directions and understood what is expected of you, please return the bottom portion of the "How did it Go?" page no later than Wednesday, January 7th.

Note: A copy of the "How Did it Go?"  page, the original Poetry Pocket assignment sheet,  the sorting rubric, and the pattern page are all attached to this page for you to download individually and print out if you need an extra of any of these.

Making Your Project:

(See the attached "Poetry Pocket" sheet about gluing instructions, and to read more about props to use)

Resources added by a Forest Park Public Library Librarian:

Check out these fun poetry books at the Forest Park Library! Your librarians have set aside some examples of great books you can use already, so check in at the Youth Services desk if you would like  to find these books or hear some  other suggestions!
